Today i made these paratha with left over dal in different ways, one in plain dal paratha and another version is stuffed cheese in dal paratha.
Leftover Dal Paratha is a perfect recipe when you want to use your leftover dal. We often throw the dal which is left from last night as we don’t know how to use it again. Well, don’t throw it from now. make delicious parathas out of it and serve it with any raita of your choice. A little creativity will turn the leftover dal into something really delicious!
You can add healthy green leafy vegetables as well if you like to this recipe to make these parathas more nutritious. The best part is kids really enjoy these parathas and they are a great recipe to be packed into their lunch boxes.

How to make Dal paratha with detailed step by step :
Plain dal paratha :
1.To begin making the Leftover Dal Paratha, firstly add the leftover dal and wheat flour in a bowl. Mix everything well and knead it into a smooth dough.
2. If your dough turns too watery, add few tablespoons of flour at a time and knead to make a smooth dough. Cover and let the dough sit for about 30 minutes.
3. After 15 minutes, heat a roti tawa. Pinch a lemon sized ball from the dough, roll it round and make it into a ball shape. Dust the dough in flour and flatten it using a rolling pin to about 7-centimetre circle.
4. Place it on hot tawa and cook on both sides until they get cooked. Rub about 1/4 teaspoon ghee or oil on both the sides of paratha. Remove from pan and repeat the same procedure for the remaining dough.
5. Serve Left Over Dal Paratha hot with Raita, pickle or curd .
Cheese stuffed dal paratha
1.Pinch a lemon sized ball from the dough, roll it round and make it into a ball shape. Dust the dough in flour and flatten it using a rolling pin to about 3-centimetre circle.
2. Now stuff 2 tbsp cheese and press gentle to cover the cheese and roll into circle.
3. Place it on hot tawa and cook on both sides until they get cooked. Rub about 1/4 teaspoon ghee or oil on both the sides of paratha. Remove from pan and repeat the same procedure for the remaining dough.
4. Serve Left Over Dal Paratha hot with Raita, pickle or curd .
