Sesame seeds Rice | Ellu Sadam | South Indian Til Rice
Sesame Rice is made with sesame seeds and is ground with spices to give a good flavor. This sesame powder is added to the cooked rice and is served hot.

For Sesame Powder
1/2CupSesame Seeds
1/2tspCumin seeds
3-4Dry red chilies
Salt
For Seasoning
1tbspPeanuts
1tbspUrad dal
1tbspChana dal
1tbspMustard Seeds
1/2tspCumin seeds
3Green chilies
2Dry red chilies
Curry leaves
Hing
3tspOil
Making Sesame Seeds Rice
2CupsCooked rice
Salt
1tbspLemon juice
Instructions
Making Sesame Seeds Powder
To begin with the sesame rice first heat a pan.
Dry roast sesame seeds, dry red chilies and cumin seeds until golden on low flame .
Keep aside for cool down.
Transfer to a blender and grind them into a coarse powder.
Add oil to pan .
Add urad dal, chana dal, cumin seeds, peanuts, mustard seeds, green chilies, red chili and curry leaves.
Roast until golden.
Add hing and fry for min.
Add coarse powder to this seasoning and mix well. Switch off the flame.
Transfer this mixture to cooked rice and add salt.
Add lemon juice and mix everything together.
Serve the Sesame Rice hot.
Notes
While making sesame seeds powder we can also use garlic.
We can make this powder before and store in air tight container.
