finely chopped

tamarind water
salt to taste

cups
water
as required to adjust consistency
Instructions
dry roast peanuts, sesame seeds,methi seeds, poppy seeds and coconut powder.
transfer to small blender and allow it to cool completely.
add ginger, salt ,garlic and water. blend into coarse paste.
add garam masala, turmeric and chili powder.
blend to smooth paste. keep aside.
Slit the chili into middle and de-seeded the seeds.
In a kadai heat oil and fry de-seeded green chili. keep aside.
now add cumin and curry leaves.
add onions and saute.
add prepared masala paste, tamarind water and salt.
mix well and add 2 cups of water.
cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
place the fried chilis into salan .
cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
serve mirchi ka salan with biryani or roti.
