Ingredients
FOR CHAI MASALA POWDER:
3tbspcardamom
1 1/2tbspcloves
1tbsppepper
1/2inchcinnamon
1tbspfennel / saunf
3tbspdry ginger powder
6tulsi seeds
1/2nutmeg / jaiphal
FOR 2 CUP CHAI USING MASALA:
2cupwater
4tsptea powder
1/2tspchai masalaprepared
1cupMilk
2tspSugar
Instructions
In a heavy-bottomed pan take 3 tbsp cardamom, 1 1/2 tbsp cloves, 1 tbsp pepper, 1/2 inch cinnamon, 1/2 nutmeg and 1 tbsp fennel.
Dry roast on low flame until it turns aromatic. keep aside.
Add 6 tulsi seeds and roast well.
cool completely, and transfer all the spice mix into blender.
Blend to a slightly coarse powder.
Now mix 3 tbsp dry ginger powder with masala powder.
chai masala powder is ready, you can store in an airtight container and use for a month.
PREPARE CHAI USING HOMEMADE CHAI MASALA:
In a saucepan take 2 cup water, 4 tsp tea powder and ½ tsp chai masala.
Boil for 4 minutes or until strong decoction is prepared.
Now add 1 cup milk, 2 tsp sugar and boil the chai twice.
