Make the popular coffee house pumpkin spice latte at home. pumpkin spice latte at home with pumpkin puree, coffee, milk, and fall spices. Better than store-bought!
1 to 3tspsugar/ maple syrupdepending on how sweet you like it
1/2tspvanilla extract
1tspGinger
1/2tspcinnamon powder
1/2tspNutmeg powder
1/2cupBrewed coffee / strong hot coffee

Instructions
Making Pumpkin puree:
Rinse and pat dry the pumpkin. Cut the squash from stem to end.
When you’ve cut through the pumpkin, just pull each half apart. We do this in two parts.
Scoop out the seeds and most of the stringy bits.
Cut the pumpkin into 1 inch pieces.
Steam the pieces on medium heat for 10- 15 mins or until soft.
Switch off the flame. Cool until you can safely handle
Remove the shell and scoop out the soft flesh into a bowl and mash with fork.
Making pumpkin latte:
Add 2 cups milk to sauce pan and boil for a min.
Remove 1/2 milk into another bowl for froth. Use an immersion blender (or milk frother) to create the milk froth.
In remaining milk add pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice (1/2 tsp nutmeg powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder, 1 tsp ginger) , 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 2 tsp sugar to a saucepan over medium heat.
Boil the milk mixture in medium flame.
Add 1/2 cup Brewed coffee (strong coffee) to milk mixture and mix well.
Switch off the heat.
Using strainer serve into mug and add the frothed milk.
Sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Notes
We can use almond milk, coconut milk in place of normal milk. But i prefer whole milk, this recipe is most statisfying when made with whole milk.
You can add more or less of the spice, vanilla, sugar…
In place of sugar we can also use maple syrup.
You can adjust amounts of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger as per taste.
If you want a stronger pumpkin flavor, add more pumpkin puree.
