onion powder recipe | garlic powder recipe | ginger powder recipe with detailed video and photo recipe – Make fresh aromatic spice powders at home. You will find a big difference between homemade and store-bought.

Making these spice powders is a very easy and simple process. We are making these powders without using the oven. As it is hot here it is time for making spices for the whole year. You can use these powders to make quick curries.

When selecting a ginger piece do see it is fresh. We use a grater here to grate the ginger. Use the large holes of the grater while grating ginger. Some times using small holes while grating makes the ginger juice to escape through. Similarly, while using garlic use it along with the skin. I prefer to crush the garlic and dry it. In the same way, for onions, it needs to be thinly sliced and in 3 to 4 days it will dry off completely. Try to use a stainless steel plate to spread and dry the pieces.

Spice powder

While drying prefer to dry under sun in the morning times and prefer to dry under shade during night times. While storing store in air-tight containers and refrigerate it for months.

Dehydrated spice powder mix made by sun-drying the onion, garlic and ginger. these are helpful spice mix powders to be in any kitchen as it can be an ideal replacement for the fresh ones and can be preserved for a longer time.

It is one of the simple recipes to make it at home. All the 3 spice mix powder i have shown in this post, you just need 3 ingredients respectively. you need process it and sundry it for 4-5 days until it becomes crisp and brittle. Each ingredient used here has a different set of moisture in it and may need individual attention. The ginger may get dried out soon, compared to the onion which has more moisture in it. Hence you may need to check it regularly and put it under the sun if it needs more solar heat. once it is dry, you can easily ground to a fine powder and store it for a couple of months easily.
